How do I get a copy of the annual report on Form 20-F?

The Company's annual report on Form 20-F, including complete audited financial statements, is available for  download: Signet Annual Report (1 Mb PDF). Shareholders may also order a hard copy, free of charge.

How do I change my registered address on the Signet Group share register?

You should notify the relevant authority detailed in 1. above. If you hold shares in joint names, the notification to change address must be signed by the first named shareholder.

What do I need to do if I change my name?

You should notify Capita Registrars in writing of any change to your name, providing documentary evidence, such as a copy of your marriage certificate or change of name by deed poll, and enclose your share certificate for amendment. If you need un-cashed dividend cheques to be reissued in your new name, please also include them in your envelope.

My share certificate has been lost or stolen. What should I do?

If you lose your share certificate, or it has been stolen, you should inform the relevant authority detailed in 1. above. A record of the missing share certificate will be made to prevent it being used and a letter of indemnity will be sent to you to sign. In signing this indemnity, you are confirming that if the missing share certificate subsequently comes to light, you will return it to the registrar to be cancelled. This is to protect Signet from possible misuse of your certificate while it is not in your possession. A replacement certificate will then be sent to you. There may be a charge for this service, so we advise you to keep your share certificates in a safe and secure place.

Can I have my dividends paid directly into my bank or building society account?

In order for UK shareholders to receive dividends this way, please complete and submit  this Dividend Mandate (15 Kb PDF) form. Direct payment of dividends avoids the risk of loss. It also saves the trouble of taking or sending cheques to a bank or building society, avoids delays as the dividends are credited on the due date and tax credit vouchers will still be sent to your registered address.
Please note, to avoid currency exchange fees please ensure that you have elected to receive dividends in pounds sterling if you have a pound sterling bank account.

How do I elect to receive my dividend in a different currency?

By default, shareholders with a UK address will receive dividends in pounds sterling. Should you wish to change your payment election from pounds sterling to US dollars, or vice versa please contact Capita Registrars.

I have not received my last dividend cheque. What should I do?

Please contact Capita Registrars, who will investigate the reason for non-receipt. You may wish to have future dividends paid directly into your bank or building society account. See above for details.

I have found an out of date dividend cheque. What can I do?

Signet dividend cheques may be cashed within twelve months of issue. After this time they need to be reissued. You can do this by returning the cheque to Capita Registrars. To avoid this problem, you should consider having your dividend cheques paid directly into your bank or building society account. See above for details.

I am receiving more than one set of Signet Group communications. How can I stop this?

If shares are bought at different times the registration details given to Capita Registrars might differ slightly on each occasion (e.g. Mr Luke S Whyte or Mr Luke Whyte). This can result in our registrar opening two accounts with slightly different details. This in turn leads to a dividend cheque being issued in respect of each account each time a dividend is paid, and the duplication of other shareholder communications. If your shareholding is duplicated in this way, please contact Capita Registrars to correct this.

How frequently and when are dividends paid?

Signet currently pays dividends twice a year, usually in July and November. It is expected that from fiscal 2010 Signet will declare quarterly dividends.

My partner (or relative) has passed away. What should I do about their shareholding?

Please contact Capita Registrars at your earliest opportunity. They will assist you with the documentation required and be able to make the process as straightforward as possible for you.

How do I transfer my shares/shareholding?

At some point you may wish to transfer some or all of your shares to someone else (for example your partner or a member of your family). To do this you will need to complete a share transfer form, which is available from Capita Registrars. The form should be fully completed and returned with your share certificate representing at least the number of shares being transferred. Capita Registrars will then process the transfer and issue a balance share certificate to you if applicable. Capita Registrars will be able to help you with any questions you may have about completing the form.

How can I check my registered details?

You can log onto www.capitaregistrars.com where you will be able to check your shareholding. The service is secure, free and easy to use. You will need your Investor Code to access this service; this can be found on your share certificate or a dividend tax counterfoil.

How do I buy and sell Signet shares?

The Company's stock symbol is SIG on both the New York Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange. You can buy/sell shares through a stockbroker, your bank or in the UK through Capita's dealing service. Signet Jewelers Ltd does not offer a share dealing service.

How do I obtain a UK shareholder discount card if my shares are held in a nominee account?

The Signet Group Shareholder Discount Card is available to all Signet shareholders who appear on the UK register, and entitles the shareholder to a 10% discount in all H.Samuel, Ernest Jones and Leslie Davis stores. There is no minimum shareholding required.  In case of a joint shareholding, the card will be automatically issued to the first name on the register.  If a card is required for the second or any subsequent shareholder contact the Group Company Secretary.

Unfortunately, this facility is not available to our US shareholders.

For shares held in a nominee account, ask the nominee to either email or write to the Group Company Secretary to confirm that you are a Signet shareholder. The cards are renewed in November each year so you will need to remind your nominee to contact us annually.
